Link Glam Spotlight #002
The spotlight this month will highlight a blogger i came across in
my research on Lupus Awareness. Before i launch the spotlight on this amazing lady, allow me to mention some nitty gritty of lupus.
What is Lupus?
Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.
Lupus most distinctive sign is a facial rash that resembles the wings of a butterfly unfolding across both cheeks; occurs in many but not all cases of lupus.
Back to launching this month's spotlight.
I have read almost all her blog posts from the time i stumbled upon her blog. I feel like i know her already. Like she is my friend or better yet a sister. Her favourite number is mine too; seven . You can feel life come alive through her words, expressing repleted love for her twin daughters and her loving husband, her struggle with lupus as well as her sincerity through her angelic smile and flawless skin. Most of all i have come to see her as a warrior (which she is) through her posts.
My link glam spotlight goes to Chelsea Joy of the Mommie and Wee. She is a blogger, mother and Lupus Advocate. Her blog is dedicated to create awareness on lupus, giving hope to other people with lupus and assuring them that you can lead a complete normal life.Living with lupus is not the most enjoyable things in the world, but through lupus, Chelsea has become a warrior and also a better mum.
With all sincerity, Chelsea is my archetypal hero. In the lupus awareness spirit, let not lupus hold you down from doing what you love. You are warrior. Chant that even in your lowest moments, go conquer the world. Most of all hold a hand of a fellow friend with lupus, together we can conquer this. It could be a long way coming depending on how you view it, but i believe in slow but sure motto. That single step of faith and believing in yourself.
Do you have lupus and have an incredible story you want to share? Drop me an email at thewayict@gmail.com and i will highlight your story here. Did you like this post as well? Share and help create awareness. Let's join hands and create #LupusAwareness, it starts with you and me.
I will write more on Lupus in this month of May, as i help create awareness. A very big thank you to the Lupus Foundation of Kenya for their support. I cannot forget the most awesome and brave Lupus warriors i have met so far, not forgetting Black Perl for spreading Lupus awareness through the lens and the Plus Fabulosity team for their assistance through the whole project. You guys rock!!
