Of Shades And Sunhats

Aloha!!

Everyone is always electrified by the mention of a party. However deciding what to wear is normally the daunting question. In this case pool party wear is tricky.

My post today is dedicated to the upcoming pool party organized by Plus Fabulosity, who are standing up to appreciate the plus size community by ruling out the stereotypes. Curve Nation Bikini Party will be happening on Saturday the 2nd May at Cloud 9, Clarence House Westlands from 12pm to 12am. The charges are just a KES 1000 which you can pay via their Mpesa till number 802411 and enquiries call +254 707 566 198.

Being a day to night event, you can work your way around to transition your outfit from day to night. Alternatively you can carry separate piece, it all depends with an individual. The way i see it, you want to look good, but also want to be comfortable with the pieces you chose to wear. The main aim for pool parties is to have fun. From shades to sun hats, sarongs to mod cloths...here are my pool party wear must have.

  1. Sarong - you can be stylish with this piece by wrapping it around as a halter, dress or skirt.
  2. Bikini - choose a comfortable bikini that makes you feel good and confident.
  3. Sunglasses
  4. Flip flops / barefoot sandals
  5. Sun Hat
  6. Sunscreen
  7. Towel
  8. A bag that can hold everything you need.

Most importantly remember to layer in bright bold colours that stand out. Also for the make up, remember to use water proof mascara (panda eyes are not cute at all).

Although pool parties scream water and play, some people come through to mingle, watch and have a good time. There is no harm in that at all. My to go essentials for a chilled out soaking in the sun with my cocktail include high waist shorts, long boyfriend shirts, crocheted pieces or the light goddess like skirts for a cover up. To pair i wear my light cropped tops or sheer tops.

What's important enough is to have a good time with friends and also get new friends as well. Go for minimal accessories for pool parties but be sure to be elegant. Here is video by a favourite plus size blogger Sarah Rae, with a look book of six swim suit piece. Do enjoy!!

Tell a friend to tell a friend, see you on the flip side come 2nd May at Cloud 9, Clarence House Westlands. Curves rock, don't be left behind!

Bisous!!
